New Play Equipment for Marlott Road
The play area at Marlott Road will be closed from Tuesday, 18th February 2020, and preparations will begin so that new play equipment can be installed in time for the summer.
The play equipment was originally supplied by the housing developer but is now the responsibility of the town council. The timber frames are failing, and it is no longer cost effective to keep making repairs. The design brief of the play area will include swings, slides and play experiences for toddlers and young children. It will also include seating for parents and carers.
The site is extremely wet, and access is limited during winter months. We hope that drainage works will improve this situation in the future.
The refurbished play area will remain fenced, but the position of the access gates will be changed to limit the risk of children running out onto the highway.
