On Friday 23rd July 2021 the Mayor of Gillingham, Cllr Paul Harris QGM, formally opened Gillingham Town Council’s new workshop facilities at Roman Court in Gillingham.
The project began in June 2020 and following public consultation, a submission for a Public Works loan was made. By the end of September 2020 the site at Roman Court belonged to Gillingham Town Council. Since then, through a combination of hard work by the Town Council’s Grounds Staff, supported by specialist building, Security Alarm, CCTV and electrical contractors, the site has been transformed into one that is fit for its new purpose and one that Gillingham can be proud of.
Cllr Harris gave special thanks to the members of the Council’s Task and Finish Group and to the Council’s Grounds Staff for the huge efforts they had put in to help renovate the site, whilst also carrying out their normal tasks.
