Civil Weddings at Gillingham Town Hall

Gillingham Town Hall is conveniently situated close to the Town Centre with a small car park to the side of the building and limited parking during the week.

The Civic Hall formerly the Magistrates Court built in 1890, is a large room with a high ceiling and a small raised stage. The room holds 60 people closely seated. There is a small walled garden suitable for photographs at the rear of the building. All rooms have wheelchair access.

Council Chamber

The Council Chamber is located within the Town Hall. Primarily used for council meetings, this room is ideal for meetings and training courses. The room has WIFI, a hearing loop, projector, screen and disabled access. It can seat 30 people. There is a small kitchen separate to the Council Chamber, equipped with cups, saucers, kettles and hot water flasks

Commercial hire fee per session: Council Chamber £50
Private hire fee per session: Council Chamber £25

Office 1

Office 1 is located within the Town Hall and is suitable as an interview room for a maximum of 3 people.
Room hire fee: £10 per session

Chantry Community Office

The Chantry Community Office is located next to Gillingham Library, the Community Office offers a small meeting room for up to 10 people. It is equipped with WIFI, cups and saucers and a kettle. A pay and display car park is located at the rear of the building.

Evening 6.00 pm— 10.00 pm

Allso slaughter gate ..and I believe peacemarsh ..I did read something about there being a peace treaty being signed there ...could he wrong tho

And did you know that Cnut died in the abbey at Shaftesbury at the age of about 40,and the dead soldiers of the battle buried in a barrow beside Longburry lane at a place still called Slaughtergate. which is at the end of Wavering lane ,named due to the wavering to and fro of the battle before a treaty was signed in a building called the retreat which is still in Peacemarsh.which gave Peacemarsh its name. If you drive along the road into the forest at Penselwood , you will drive through the barracks where the army assembled, still very visible today.
