Sunday 13 October - Flooding is possible - be prepared

    Message from the Environment Agency:

River levels have risen at the Gillingham Le Neubourg Way river gauge as a result of heavy overnight rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. We believe there is a possibility of flooding of the river and the tributaries between Gillingham and Sturminster Newton. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point. The weather remains unsettled over the next couple of days and further rainfall is forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation and expect river levels to remain high for the next few days. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued. This message will be updated tomorrow morning or as the situation changes.

Brilliant achievement. The team are to be heartily congratulated. They do such an amazing job with several “odd patches” around the town which always look so colourful. It’s always a pleasure to see these corners as you drive round the town. (The spaceman was inspired). Bravo.

The spaceman a WOW factor well done Gillingham.

Thank you to all those that supported us. This competition really puts Gillingham on the map. Those groups that entered the South West in Bloom It’s Your Neighbourhood competition also did very well and improved on last year’s results.
